HOUSTON – Vandals defaced the busts of two American presidents and two Texas leaders that are part of the so-called Mount Rush Hour, near downtown Houston.

The sculptures of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Sam Houston and Stephen Austin are on display at American Statesmanship Park, next to the intersection of interstates 45 and 10, just north of downtown.

Houston was left with a Swastika on his jacket.

Houston and Austin were left with tear drops and fangs on their faces.

Houston even had blood dripping from his face.

Lincoln was left with oil and blood written on the giant statue.

"It breaks my heart. 'Cause it's my neighborhood. I was born here,” said Stanley North, who lives nearby.

He told KPRC 2, "No. It's not the first time. They also had Rudolph the red nosed reindeer on Abraham Lincoln. Doing something just silly man. You know young people. They don't really have any responsibility."

By noon, county crews were out painting over the vandal’s mess.

The display, which features the inscription “A Tribute To American Statesmanship,” was the creation of David Adickes.

The statues were donated to Harris County in 2012.
