HOUSTON – A Houston woman is accused of hitting her stepson with an extension cord and leaving marks on his body.

Officers spoke to Lozano. According to court documents, she told investigators that she hit the boy with extension cord twice, but she did not recall leaving any marks.

Lozano said her husband, the boy's father, was hitting her, and she was trying to defend herself. As she was defending herself, she said, she grabbed the cord, and that's when she may have hit the boy.

The husband, Jose Antonio Cedillos, had a different story. According to court documents, he told officers that he assaulted his wife after seeing the injuries she caused to his son.

Lozano is charged with injury to a child.
