Coast Guard rescues man suffering seizures 100 miles off Galveston coast

GALVESTON, Texas – The Coast Guard rescued a man who was suffering seizures Sunday evening on a fishing boat about 100 miles southeast of Galveston, officials said.

The call from the Black Jack IV came in about 6:30 p.m.

A helicopter crew hoisted the man from the vessel, flew to an offshore rig to refuel and then flew the man to Galveston Scholes International Airport.

An ambulance took the man from the airport to UT Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was listed in stable condition.
