Sugar Land officer among 4 arrested for stealing cattle, construction equipment, among other items

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Four men, including a Sugar Land police officer, have been arrested and charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, a first-degree felony.

The Texas Department of Public Safety, along with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, the Sugar Land Police Department and Southwestern Cattleman’s Association Rangers, assisted in the investigation. The combined task force had been conducting the investigation for some time.

Some of the items stolen were heavy-duty construction equipment, cattle trailers, lawn mowers, pickup trucks and cattle. The value of all stolen items totaled around $150,000.

William Allen, Myles Wallace, Justin Sessums and Leon Washington Jr. were arrested on Wednesday around 8 a.m.

Allen is a Sugar Land police officer.

Sugar Land PD released the following statement:

"We are aware of his arrest. The officer has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings and our own internal affairs investigation."
