19 former La Marque ISD teachers fight to get jobs back

HOUSTON – Nineteen former La Marque ISD teachers are fighting for their jobs.

The group said the state education commissioner broke the law by ordering the district to close.

They also said the appointed board of managers didn't have the authority to let them go.

Texas City ISD is expected to annex La Marque ISD in about a week-and-a-half.
