Gunman calls police, turns himself in after man shot to death in Richmond

RICHMOND, Texas – A man was shot and killed Tuesday in Richmond.

According to police, officers were called just before 1 a.m. to the 800 block of Maiden Lane on reports of a shooting. Officer found one man who had been shot multiple times.

The victim was taken to OakBend Medical Center, where he died.

While officers were investigating the scene, the suspect, identified as Travion Depaul Fountain, 25, of Richmond, called the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office and turned himself in, authorities said. Fort Bend County deputies went to Fountain’s home and arrested him without incident. 

Investigators found a .223-caliber rifle inside the home that they believe was used to kill the victim.

Fountain was charged with murder and was taken to the Fort Bend County jail.
