HPD, clergy hold ‘Day of Prayer' service in remembrance of fallen officers

HOUSTON – A “Day of Prayer” service was held Wednesday for police officer that lost their lives in the line of duty.

The service, led by Houston Acting Police Chief Martha I. Montalvo and religious leaders, was held at the Houston Police Officers Union Building.

The annual prayer service is an observance of National Police Week, which is dedicated to remembering officers who died in the line of duty.

Motorists are encouraged to drive with their headlights on this week in remembrance of those officers.
