KATY, Texas – Bold may not be a strong enough word to describe an alleged burglar's actions in a Katy neighborhood. Home security video shows a woman walk up to the front door of a house, check to see if anyone's there, and even look directly into the camera. Harris County sheriff's detectives say she decided to break in anyway.
"That's takes a lot of nerve for somebody to do that," says neighbor Mary Suarez, who lives down the street from the home that was broken into. "To me that was dumb, because she's looking right at the camera."

The video also shows the woman's partner jump over the fence and walk into the backyard of the home in the Ventana Lakes neighborhood near the Grand Parkway and Clay Road. They didn't get away with anything but the owner says they broke in through the master bedroom window trying. People on neighborhood Facebook pages are posting about the break-in, claiming the two went to several homes in Ventana Lakes and other subdivisions in the area attempting the same thing.
"It's very concerning," says Suarez. "You think you moved in to a safe place and it may not be so."
In the surveillance video the pair is driving in a red or maroon Nissan sedan. The male appears to throw a gun over the fence before he jumps over, picks it up and breaks into the home.
