Helicopter makes 'hard landing' at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center

HOUSTON – Monday evening an air-ambulance helicopter made a hard landing near the helipad at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center.

According to officials at the hospital, the chopper is from Seguin, Texas, and there was no patient on board.

A pilot, nurse and paramedic were the only people on the helicopter at the time of the landing and there are no reports of any injuries.

"At this time, we are cooperating with appropriate authorities regarding an on-site investigation and will be working quickly to safely re-open our Memorial City helipad," said Alex Loessin with the hospital.

The helipad will remain closed and all patient flights will be sent to other Memorial Hermann hospitals.
