Reports of shots fired in Target parking lot at Memorial City Mall

HOUSTON – Shots were fired in the Memorial City Mall parking lot around 6:30 p.m. on Friday after a dispute, according to police.

Police found multiple shell casings in the parking lot and said multiple cars were struck by gunfire.

According to reports, a group of men approached another group of men in Target, demanding a gold chain.

Two men declined to hand over the chain, and made their way out to their car, a white Mustang.

The group of men demanding the chain followed them to the parking lot and fired about seven shots, according to police.

Two shots hit the Mustang, and two other cars were hit as well.

According to police, only one gun was used and no one was injured.

A customer followed the shooters, but they were able to get away. The customer gave a description of a maroon SUV as the getaway vehicle.

Police urge anyone with information to contact HPD or Crime Stoppers.
