Cabela's opens Houston area location with great fanfare No description found
LEAGUE CITY â Â Outdoor enthusiasts have been waiting for years for this, and now the first Cabela's in the Houston area is officially open in League City.
The 72,000-square-foot store is located off the Gulf Freeway near FM 646.
People lined up over night to be the first at the grand opening Thursday morning. The doors to the store officially opened at 10 a.m. after a ribbon cutting ceremony. The first 500 people in line received a Cabela's gift card and a chance to win one of three Remington firearms.
The store is also good news for workers in the area. 170 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees have been hired to staff the location.
