2-alarm fire damages several units in southwest Houston apartment complex

No one was hurt after a fire broke out Tuesday morning at an apartment complex in southwest Houston.

Firefighters were called at about 3:15 a.m. to Sunblossom Gardens Apartments in the 5900 block of Ranchester. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. As the fire spread from a balcony to the attic, the fire quickly became a 2-alarm blaze.

The Houston Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire but not before 2 units were damaged by fire and smoke and 12 others were damaged by water.
