Man named Happy arrested in 2006 deadly Cajun Kitchen restaurant shooting

Houston – The Houston Police Department has made an arrest in a cold case.

Pierre Mai, 29, was killed on Dec. 13, 2006. He was shot at 11900 Bellaire Blvd.

Mai was eating at the Cajun Kitchen restaurant with friends when a man entered the restaurant, pulled out a weapon and shot him.

Investigators said they identified Happy Tran Pham, 30, as the shooter two days after the crime. However, he was not located until this week.

Members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offender's Task Force located Pham at a home in Houston on Monday and took him into custody without incident.

Pham is charged with murder.
