ROSENBERG, Texas – A woman was shot to death at an apartment complex in Rosenberg, according to police.
The victim has been identified as Jena Pleitez, 33, a resident of the complex.
Officers responded to a welfare check Sunday around 6 a.m. Sunday at the Victoria Garden Apartments in the 900 block of Lane Drive.
When officers arrived they found Pleitez lying in a breezeway in the complex.
Investigators said she was shot multiple times and died at the scene.
"It's very, very disturbing, very disturbing," said resident Patricia Covarruvio.
Neighbors at the Victoria Garden Apartments heard chaos in the early morning hours.
"She heard the scream of a young female. 'No, no, no' and then she heard, 'Boom, boom, boom' and then, 'boom, boom.' She heard all five shots," said Covarruvio.
