The women were fleeing in a red Dodge when the cops began to chase them.  The women hopped on Highway 59, heading toward Houston, and exited Quitman.

The suspects' getaway car ran past the red light and slammed into a Chevy Malibu in the intersection.  Rosalva Quezada and her three children were inside the Chevy, which flipped over.

Quezada was driving her boys - ages 5, 7 and 15 -  home from school when the crash happened.  She died at the scene.  The children were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The three suspects were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and later charged.

Franklin, the getaway driver, was found guilty of murder in 2014 and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
