Armed suspects rob meat market in Spring

SPRING, Texas – Deputies are investigating after a meat market was robbed at gunpoint in Spring.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the robbery was reported Thursday around 3:30 p.m. at the La Michoacana meat market on FM 1960 and Ella.

Deputies said the robbers had guns and shots were fired inside the store, but no one was injured.

The meat market has previously been robbed two times. The robbers fled the scene and authorities found the vehicle abandoned on the street

Investigators are processing a red Dodge pickup truck and believe there is a large group of robbers who are working together to target the meat markets. They believe around 30 to 40 people are working together in the robbery ring.

They are specifically targeting the check-cashing businesses that are located inside the meat markets because they keep a lot of cash on hand.
