HOUSTON – Houston police say surveillance video shows the final moments of Alvin Torres, 16, before his death Friday.
The video shows a white extended-cab truck pull alongside Torres in the 6200 block of Beverly Hill. Police described it as the suspect's truck. ;
Investigators said it passed Torres just before the shooting. Police said the license plate began with a D or an O. According to investigators, police said he was shot four times after the white pickup pulled up, with four males inside, who started shooting.
"In the short term, we've got to catch these guys, put them behind bars and keep them there,” the person whose surveillance camera captured the images released by police. "Any shooting is important to the neighborhood. Ours is no different. Too many guns on the street, in the wrong hands."
The apartment where Torres’ family lives was decorated with black streamers. Torres went to school at Lee High School just down the street from where his family lived and where he was shot to death.
Anyone who can help solve the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could earn a cash reward.
