Young woman found dead inside car in Whataburger parking lot

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a young woman was found shot to death inside a car outside a Whataburger in north Houston early Monday.

Police found the victim inside the back of a small red car in the parking lot of the restaurant in the 100 block of Airtex near I-45. 

It happened just before 1 in the morning. Police say the young woman, who's in her teens or early twenties, was brought by two young men.

The two men knocked on the drive thru window of the Whataburger for help, but when police arrived, the young woman was dead.

People who live and work nearby say they can't understand why another young person was killed by gunfire.

"Crazy, it's a crazy world, I travel all across Houston and I see the craziest things," says Michelle Ivie.

Investigators are not releasing the young woman's identity until her family has been notified. The two young men are being questioned by police.
