Chick-fil-A taking cole slaw off menu, reveals recipe

HOUSTON – People who are fans of Chick-Fil-A's cole slaw are angry after word spread that the restaurant chain is dropping the dish from its menu.

The company has decided to replace the cole slaw with a kale salad. Chick-Fil-A said it is making the change because people are looking for healthier ways to eat.

In response to the negative posts appearing on social media, Chick-fil-A has posted the recipe for its cole slaw.

The recipe goes as follows:

  • 4 teaspoons vinegar
  • one-fourth cup sugar
  • three-fourths teaspoon dry mustard
  • one-fourth teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 bags (10 oz. bags) fine shredded cabbage, chopped to one-eighth inch
  • one-fourth cup finely chopped carrots
  • Whisk vinegar, sugar, mustard and salt together until sugar is dissolved. Add mayonnaise and whisk to mix. Add cabbage and carrots. Mix to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.
  • Makes six to eight servings.
