Officials say man would be charged with murder if alive today

No description found

HOUSTON – Investigators from the Houston Police Department Cold Cast Unit have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman on Dec. 29, 2004.

Elijah Sidney, Jr. has been named responsible for the death of Karin Price, 35, who was shot at 8100 Hanna Street and later died at Ben Taub General Hospital. Sidney was 50 years old at the time of the murder but died from a medical condition in 2014.

HPD said Price was found in a ditch on the side of Hanna Street with several gunshot wounds. Sidney was identified as a suspect at the time of the incident and denied being involved. He failed a polygraph test, but charges were not accepted at the time.

Further investigation revealed information that contradicted Sidney's statement to investigators. The Harris County District Attorney's Office agreed that, based on the information gathered from 2004 to 2015, Sidney would be charged with murder if he was still alive today.
