YouTube Kids app blasted for unhealthy ads and other business news

HOUSTON – The YouTube Kids app is under fire for unhealthy advertisements.

Complaints filed by consumer advocacy groups say the ads for junk food are deceptive, particularly for children. The groups say that online videos are too commercialized and not held to the same standards that apply to cable and broadcast television.

Google introduced the YouTube Kids app in February as a tool for parents to monitor their kids YouTube use. The Federal Trade Commission has been reviewing the complaint.

Google is making it easier to avoid the crowds and chaos of Black Friday. The company analyzed foot traffic from smartphone users during the holidays last year and found that the afternoons are much busier. On Black Friday in particular, foot traffic picks up in the afternoon. The best time to shop was between 2 and 6 a.m., before the crowds start to pick up.
