'Trench coat bandit' robs bank on Houston's south side
Bank robbery took place inside Walmart store
HOUSTON – An armed robber known as the "trench coat bandit" was caught on camera holding up a bank on Houston's south side.
The robbery happened Monday at the Woodforest National Bank inside the Walmart near I-45 the Gulf Freeway and Almeda Genoa Road.
According to the FBI, the man told the teller he wanted to make a withdrawal. He then lifted his shirt to show a gun, investigators said.
The teller gave him cash, which the man stuffed inside his trench coat.
No one was hurt in the robbery.
Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and arrest of this robber.
