HOUSTON – It was a slimy week for several popular restaurants across Houston.
Little Woodrow's in Midtown at 2306 Brazos had to throw out 2,000 pounds of ice from two ice machines. The ice was covered in slime.
Pink slime made its way into ice machines at the Local Pour at 1952 West Gray, and more than 1,500 pounds of ice had to be thrown out. Health inspectors ordering the business to stop using machines until a reinspection could be done.
Einstein's Bros. Bagels at 5525 Weslayan, was also hit by the slime monster. Health inspectors found slime in the ice machine. Workers told to clean it up.
Not such an easy fix at O'Frenchy's at 12604 Hillcroft. Several dead roaches were found inside the kitchen. The restaurant has to get rid of them.
More roaches, this time at the Feng Ling Restaurant at 11010 Westheimer. A live roach was found in the kitchen, and dead roaches were found inside light panels.
At Simply Pho at 2929 Milam Street, 90 pounds of pork had to be thrown out because it was not safe to eat. The meat had been sitting out for more than four hours.
Two stops this week that had nothing but good marks, Tacos & Tortas Las Llardas on the 10,000 block of Bissonnet, and Salata on Westheimer Road. Both had spotless inspections this week.
