HOUSTON – Carnival Cruise Line is relaxing its bring-your-own-beverages policy.
Until now, guests were only allowed to carry non-alcoholic beverages onto ships at the start of their voyage. Now, the cruise line will allow passengers to carry alcohol-free drinks back on-board after port calls on island destinations.
The beginning of October marked the beginning of a big shift in how debit and credit cards are protected, but many merchants still aren't ready. Instead of swiping, the new chip cards are designed to be dipped into the payment terminal. Merchants all over the country are delaying the change until after the holidays, over fears that the change could interfere with the peak shopping season.
But, stores that don't have working chip technology are liable for any fraud that takes place at the register, if the customer owns one of the newer cards.
Target is now giving customers store credit for used clothing. The company has partnered with ThredUp.com, an online distribution store that accepts high quality children's or women's clothing, bags and shoes. In return, customers get a store gift card.
The items can be dropped off at select Target stores or shipped via FedEx. However, there's no minimum amount for donors so there is a chance to earn nothing.
