Moseley's body was found in her home in the 3300 block of Fannin on Sept. 26. The next day, her son, who was reported missing, was found in Houston, The boy was first charged with murder, but that charge has now been upgraded.

Police said the boy gave a voluntary statement, confessing to causing his mother's death, but the motive for the killing is still under investigation.

Police believe the son killed his mother, then traveled about 200 miles to Seguin, near San Antonio. Police said he then returned to Houston, where he was arrested.

Police want to talk to anyone who had contact with her son.

"It's scary. And what if he had done that to one of the neighbors as well after that crime? It could have been more than just her," neighbor Kira Rider said. "It's very devastating to hear that especially since they have charged the son with murder. I don't understand how a child can do that to their own parent who has raised them."

The Galveston County District Attorney's Office will decide whether they will try the teen as an adult or a juvenile.
