New Tribeca streaming service chooses quality movies and other business news

HOUSTON – A new streaming service is taking on Netflix by choosing quality over quantity.

Tribeca Shortlist launched Wednesday with about 150 titles available. While that might not sound like a lot, the on-demand movies are all critically acclaimed and range from major studio classics to indie films. The service will cost $4.99 a month for the first year.

Meantime, a new study sheds surprising light on millennial relationships. According to a recent survey by Credit Karma, half of millennials merge their finances before marriage. Only about a third of Baby Boomers do the same. More than a third of millennials said they relied entirely on joint credit cards or had at least one joint credit card, prior to marriage.
