Video surfaces of person trying to flush kitten down toilet

HOUSTON – A shocking video of a local person attempting to flush a kitten down a toilet has drawn some negative attention online.

The video appears to show a teenager forcing the kitten into a toilet bowl, closing the lid, and flushing the toilet.

She reopens the lid one more time, pushes the meowing cat back inside, and flushed the toilet again.

The video was posted to Twitter but removed Tuesday morning.

A KPRC 2 viewer said they notified police of the recording.

The Houston Humane Society has alerted Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office about the video, but said that they have to gather more information before they can open an official investigation.

There is still no word on the cat's condition.
