HOUSTON – Philips is recalling about 370,000 halogen bulbs.
The company said that the lens on the front of the bulb can pop off and shatter. Philips has received 13 reports of the incident, including five cases with property damage and two laceration injuries. The bulbs were sold nationwide from November 2013 to March of this year. According to researchers at RealtyTrac, Monday is the best day to close on a house. The company tracked 32 million family homes and condo sales over the past 15 years, and found that buyers who close on a Monday usually received the biggest discount, which came out to about 2.3 percent the market estimated value.
RadioShack has agreed in bankruptcy court to make good on the gift cards it sold to millions of customers before the retailer closed permanently earlier this year. Those left with a worthless card have two options. They can get a refund by filling out an online claim form, or use the card at General Wireless, which is the company that acquired the RadioShack trademark.
The maker of Oreos is cooking up healthier snacks. Over the next five years, Mondel?z will focus on less processed food and increase its number of healthy snacks by 50 percent. That includes individually wrapped snacks that are 200 calories or less and products that have nutritional attributes, like fewer ingredients and no artificial flavors.
