CYPRESS, Texas – Residents who live in the Cypress Creek Lakes subdivision are being warned about some recent crime.
One family who lives in the 11000 block of Cypress Creek Lakes Drive had a front window of their home and the front door shot out with a BB gun.
"Yes, it is scary," resident Johnette Hester. "Even if it's kids that are doing this, it needs to be stopped."
Hester has friends who live in nearby neighbors and they are dealing with the same thing, she said.
"Some of their back doors had been shot out," she said
Residents in the nearby Bridgeland neighborhood reported having several car break-ins Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
One victim said she believes it's a group of kids who are causing the problems because they broke into her car and stole loose change but left behind the expensive GPS.
It's unclear if the same people are committing the crimes in both neighborhoods. But the Hester family just wants people to be aware.
"I don't know if we'll catch anyone, I don't know if the police will catch anyone but our hope is Channel 2 can help us spread awareness," Hester said.
