Cartoon characters' size may affect kids' eating habits

No description found

The size of cartoon characters may affect the eating habits of children.

As part of a recent study out of the University of Colorado at Boulder, researchers showed pictures of thin and large cartoon characters to a group of young children. The kids were then offered candy from a bowl.

The study found children who were shown the large character ate more than twice as much as kids who looked at a picture of the skinny character.

However, researchers also found that kids who were reminded of healthy habits before reaching for the sweets ate less, even if they had seen the picture of the larger character.
