HOUSTON – A Kingwood man was arrested after deputies say he pretended to be a cop, but accidentally pulled over an off-duty deputy.
Eric Sanchez, 31, is accused of using white and blue flashing lights to try and pull over a car on the 13200 block of the Eastex Freeway on May 22.

According to court documents, when Sanchez realized that the person inside the car was a deputy, he rushed past the deputy in his truck and exited Northpark Drive to make a getaway. The deputy took down the impersonator's license plate and passed it on to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Sanchez told them that he had not tried to pull over a car and that if the flashing lights on his car had turned on, it was an accident.
Sanchez is charged with impersonating a police officer.
