HOUSTON – Discount stores like Ross, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are known for low prices, but shoppers don't have to settle for the same savings that everyone else is getting.
According to a writer for Rather-Be-Shopping, a Ross employee said the best deals are available Wednesday morning. That's when employees finish their weekly clearance markdowns on Tuesday evening. The writer also recommends shopping early in the week at Marshalls for clearance prices on apparel.
Shop Smart Magazine said the best day to find low prices on name-brand shoes at Marshalls is Wednesday. The website All Things Target provides links to the store's most current mobile coupons and explains how to get Target products for pennies each week by combining coupons and in-store deals. It also lists Target's markdown schedule, which shows children's clothes go on sale on Monday, women's clothing prices are marked down on Tuesday, followed by men's clothing on Wednesday.
Lastly, the website She Finds says while Kohl's pretty much always has sales, it's rumored the largest markdowns occur on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. It's best to shop at Kohl's on weekend mornings.
These deals and days aren't something that the retailers will confirm or deny. If asked, they say something like "We pride ourselves on our low prices offered to customers every day of the week."
