As Seen On TV Tuesday: The Chop Magic

HOUSTON – On TV, the creators of Chop Magic say it can replace a cutting board for slicing and dicing, but does it actually work?

Channel 2 producer Tera Roberson had seen the commercials and agreed to test it out.

First, she tried out the squash and it worked. Then, she decided to test it out on something tougher; it wasn't strong enough to get through sweet potatoes.

Then, she tried a tomato. Instead of chopping it up, it worked more like a juicer. It also sliced onions, but couldn't quite get them diced.

Roberson concluded that the Chop Magic works well for soft vegetables, like zucchini and squash, but not at all for potatoes, onions or tomatoes.

"If I was at home and I had been through all this, I would walk over to the trash and throw this thing away," Roberson said. "Just because it's taking too much time and it's actually frustrating me because I could have my work done."
