As seen on TV: The Gyro Bowl

HOUSTON – Ella and Paige, 3-year-old twins, are undeniably adorable. But twice the cuteness also means twice the clean-up for mom, Leslie, when the girls have accidents.

And with little ones, there are always accidents.

The Gyro Bowl promises to help you cut down on cleaning time, with its multi-layered snack bowl that spins and swivels to hold in snacks. The ad, in fact, promises that it is "100% totally, absolutely kid-proof."

So we decided to let Ella and Paige test out that claim.

When walking and talking, the Gyro Bowl held up well, holding in treats despite a close call when the girls climbed into the backseat of their dad's truck. Little Ella nearly took a tumble, but the Gyro Bowl kept the snacks safely stored inside.

Once buckled in, the girls actively tried to get the cookies out and managed to dump out the snacks with little effort.

Still, Leslie said the bowls can come in handy when you're feeding younger kids.

The packaging on the Gyro Bowl reads 'For Ages 2 Yrs. And Up," but Leslie said by the time Ella and Paige were 2, they had learned to manipulate the bowls. She said the girls could tip them over, dumping out all the treats stored inside.

The bottom line? Leslie said she wouldn't spend $20 - the cost to get a specialized bowl with car or princess patterns - on the Gyro Bowl. But for kids around 1-year-old, the bowls do work to help contain spills.
