Managers serving eviction notice find mother, daughter dead in Baytown

BAYTOWN, Texas – Baytown police investigated a possible murder-suicide involving a mother and daughter.

It happened Wednesday evening at the Cedar Ridge Apartments on Baker Road. Apartment managers discovered the grisly scene at 6:30 p.m. when they went to serve the family an eviction notice.

Police say inside the dining area they found the bodies of a 55-year -old woman and her 26-year-old daughter.

Homicide investigators say a gun was found close to the older woman's body, but they are not yet sure if she pulled the trigger.

Police also found notes that appeared to be written by the daughter in previous months indicating the family was going through a hard time. The mother was apparently unable to find or keep a job, and the daughter was depressed and suffering from Crohn's disease.
