HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – An investigation is underway at Klein Intermediate school after five students were poked with needles.
The needles were from lancets, which are small devices used to draw blood, administrators said one student brought them from home and handed them out to friends. Five kids are believed to have been poked and the two students doing the poking have been disciplined.
"A thorough and expeditious investigation of the matter is being conducted by the administration and Klein ISD police," said administrators in a letter home to parents. "It appears that this is confined to a small group of students who are friends."
There was concern about blood contamination but the school nurse examined the marks and said they were very minor.
