HOUSTON – A woman is dead after police said her ex-boyfriend shot her, then turned the gun on himself at an apartment complex near the Texas Medical Center.
It happened around 3:40 p.m. at Greenbriar Apartments at 7777 Greenbriar Drive.

When officers arrived on the scene they found Takita Kyshawn Mathieu dead in the leasing office.
Police said when the man entered the leasing office there were several other people inside. All of them ran out when they saw the man had a gun.
The two were heard arguing before gunshots were heard, police said.
They believe the man who shot Mathieu was her ex-boyfriend. He is in critical condition at Ben Taub Hospital hospital after turning the gun on himself. He has not yet been identified.
About four months ago, police said Mathieu, 26, ended a dating relationship with the man that lasted several years.
We're told Mathieu earlier Wednesday reported the man to police for telephone harassment.
