Where you buy your coffee can determine how much caffeine you get

If you count on coffee to jump start your mornings you probably want the most bang for your buck or caffeine for your cash.

Where you buy your coffee will determine how quickly you can jump into your routine.

The website called Caffeine Informer has compiled caffeine content for more than 600 beverages using both information from the companies that make them and lab tests.

It found McDonald's brewed coffee has 9.1 milligrams of caffeine an ounce, that's 145 milligrams for a 16 ounce cup.
The same size Dunkin Donuts brew packs 203 milligrams. While your 16 ounce Starbucks grande loads you up with 330 milligrams.

Caffeine informer calls getting 300 or more miligrams of caffeine is extreme. The website reports that healthy adults with no medical issues can generally safely consume between 300 and 400 milligrams of caffeine daily.

The spread between the Starbucks and McDonald's is pretty wide.
You're getting 185 fewer milligrams of fuel at McDonald's, and even though all 3 businesses claim to sell a 16 ounce cup, McDonald's comes up a tad shy of the full 16 ounces.
