Car customer complaint prompts online feud

Daughter of dealership's owner responds to customer's complaint

ROSENBERG, Texas – When a mother of two took to her Facebook page to air frustrations over a recent car purchase she never expected such a strong response from the daughter of the dealership's owner.

"I was like, 'Wow, that's really unprofessional,' I said, 'That's rude,'" said Gabrielle Snider.

Snider purchased a used Buick from Kar Town in Rosenberg. Snider said within three days the car was having transmission and heater problems.

"I wasn't expecting to drive it off the lot and three days later have major problems with it," said Snider. "These aren't minor issues, a transmission is major."

The work was covered under warranty, but Snider took to her Facebook page to complain about having to already put the car in the shop.

"You're selling from a professional dealership. It should be reliable," said Snider.

Her post caught the eye of Kar Town employee Melissa Hart, who is also the daughter of the dealership's owner. Hart responded to Snider's post by writing, "((expletive)) go read our reviews they are used cars not everybody has the same experience sorry."

Yet another post read, "if you want a perfect car get your (expletive) a new one from a new dealership."

When Local 2 tried to speak with Hart, her sister asked us to leave. The owner, Doug Hart, did come out to speak with us.

"It's unacceptable what was done on Facebook," said Doug Hart.

Hart apologized for his daughter's comments and promised to repair Snider's car or, if she wants, refund her down payment.

"I apologize and I'll do what I need to do to fix it," said Hart.

Local 2 did ask Hart if he was going to have a talk with his daughter about customer relations and he said, "I'm not even sure she's going to continue to work here at this point."
