Getting the best deals at outlet stores around Texas

HOUSTON – There are hundreds of retailers at each outlet mall, but not all of them offer great deals.

Consumer Reports surveyed more than 15,000 shoppers and asked them to rank 53 outlet stores on value, quality, selection and help. 

The results show consumers found the best values at several stores:

• Bon Worth, a women's clothing store at the Outlets at Conroe
  
• Haggar, a men's clothing outlet with locations at Katy Mills Mall and Houston Premium Outlets
  
• Oshkosh B'Gosh and IZOD, both with outlet locations at Houston Premium Outlets
• L. L. Bean, outlet stores only open in the northeast

Consumer Reports said most of the items purchased at these stores were 3 percent to 72 percent less expensive than similar items purchased at retail stores.
