HOUSTON – Now is the perfect time to buy a Halloween costume, for anyone who hasn't picked one out yet.
Stores start rolling out the deep discounts about two weeks before Hallows' Eve. For example, Target has costumes for up to 40 percent off, but customers have to order by Oct. 27.
The Spirit Halloween superstore is offering a 20 percent discount with a printable coupon that can be found here. Just use the coupon code: email14. Customers can also sign up for an account on the website and print the coupon.
Amazon also has Halloween costumes and accessories for up to 40 percent off, and shipping is free for purchases of $35. The online retailer is selling the incredibly popular "Breaking Bad" costume for $27.78, discounted from $49.99. And while the AMC series is popular, the reason shoppers have coveted the costume is because of all of the Ebola news this month.
Ebola fears have also sparked a run on cleaning supplies. Nielsen Data shows that Clorox has jumped the most so far, with a 28 percent sales boost over the last month. General Disinfectants are up nearly 13 percent and hand sanitizer sales have climbed eight percent. Health experts say stocking up on disinfectants won't be all the helpful for Ebola, but it can help protect from the flu, norovirus and enterovirus.
And finally, the McRib is back, but not quite everywhere. McDonald's is rolling out the sandwich at participating restaurants, and hasn't had a national rollout in three years. For anyone craving the popular sandwich, there's this website, which shows locations selling it.
