HOUSTON – Doctors across Houston are seeing strep throat going around. The most common symptoms include sudden and sore throat, pain when you swallow and fever over 101 degrees.
You could also suffer from swollen tonsils and lymph nodes, as well as white or yellow spots on the back of your throat.
In addition to strep throat, Pediatrician Dr. Phong Van-Liaw at Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center is seeing viral pharyngitis and laryngitis, asthma flare-ups, bronchitis and eczema.
At the Kelsey-Seybold Pasadena Clinic, Dr. Angelica Higgins has seen a rise in strep throat, as well as reactive airway disease and acute gastroenteritis.
And Dr. Paula Schlesinger in the Galleria-area has treated more cases of asthma, viral illness, seasonal allergies and viral exanthems, which are various skin infections, like chicken pox and rubella.
