Houston man arrested for robbing Walgreens, leading police on chase
No description foundROSENBERG – A Houston man was arrested after police said he robbed a Walgreens in Rosenberg and led them on a chase.
Police responded to the robbery call just after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Walgreens in the 3300 block of Avenue H.
When officers arrived, they found the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old David Downs, sitting in his vehicle.
Witnesses told police Downs had taken forcefully taken money from a Walgreens employee before going out to his car in the parking lot.
Police said Downs refused to get out of his vehicle and eventually drove off.
Officers chased Downs for about 25 miles. The chase ended on US 90 A in East Bernard.
Downs was arrested for charges of robbery and evading police.
