HOUSTON – A homeless man was hit and killed as he tried to walk across Highway 59.
Police said Cleveland Miles Jr., 69, was trying to cross the main lanes of Highway 59 near the Interstate 45 exit at around 11 p.m. Monday when a pickup truck hit him in the northbound lanes.
Investigators said Miles died at the scene.
Police said the driver will not be charged because he stopped after the accident.
The northbound lanes were closed for a few hours during the investigation.
