Thieves steal $1,000 worth of reptiles

HOUSTON – Police in Kingwood are looking for a the crooks who they said broke into a pet store in Kingwood and stole some very expensive reptiles.

Kevin Willard said the thieves broke into his store on Brookdale Drive sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Willard said when he went into work, he noticed the front glass door has been busted. He then noticed his red tail boas, green tail boas and two ferrets were missing.

"It was about $1,000 worth of animals that were taken, and it may not be that big a hit to a Petsmart but to us it's a pretty big hit." Willard said.

Willard said he now plans to get security cameras to make sure this doesn't happen again.
