Lockdown lifted at 2 Pasadena schools after searching for gunman, police say

PASADENA, Texas – Police are searching for a man who fired several shots near two Pasadena schools, police said.

The shooting was reported around 3 p.m. in the 4400 block of Crenshaw and Preston roads.

Officials said a man was walking in the 5000 block of Preston Road when he fired four or five shots. Police said no one was hit.

Pasadena police are searching the area for the gunman.

Pasadena Memorial High School and Lomax Middle School were placed on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted at 4:26 p.m.

The Pasadena Independent School District released the following statement:

“Attention Parents of Lomax Middle School and Pasadena Memorial High School students, both campuses are currently on lock down. Pasadena Police Department received a call about alleged shots being fired in a nearby neighborhood. All students are safe and will be released as soon as the City of Pasadena Police gives the all clear.”
