2 arrested, 2 on the run after armed robbery

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for two people after two shootings and a police chase.

Police arrested Devonte Lockett, 17, and Jaquaylyn Hicks-Momon, 19.

Officials said a group of men were playing dominoes when four men pulled up and held them at gunpoint at Springhill and Lydia.

One man was shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition, but is expected to survive.
The men got away in a silver SUV.

“That’s the store they normally hang out there. Play dominoes, they gamble a little bit there,” said neighbor Cierria Stewart. “It’s sad. Hopefully, we can find out who did it.”

Surveillance video from the store showed a silver SUV pull up and three masked men jump out. Seconds later, a man carrying a gun ran to the front of the store pointing his pistol at someone in a maroon car.

Another man followed behind him and both ran down the street. The silver SUV drove backwards in the same direction.

Around 11:30 p.m., officers received a call about another shooting at Delano and Elgin with the same vehicle description as the previous shooting.

A victim in that shooting was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. Officers spotted the vehicle and chased it to Tuam and Milby where the vehicle crashed.

“He almost hit a young lady, they had to jump out of the street. And the next thing I know there was a bunch of cop cars coming down and all of a sudden, down here we heard a big bang,” said witness Larry Dehart.

Four men fled on foot, but officers caught two. The two other men are still on the run. Officers believe the four are responsible for the  previous shootings.

“It’s hard and it’s a shame that you may have to keep your kids in the house, keep your kids out the way of danger when you don’t even know when danger is going to hit,” said neighbor Ellen Van.
