HOUSTON –
Police are investigating a shooting at a northeast Houston apartment complex that left one dead Friday night, officials said.
According to Houston police, a man was walking in a parking lot when he was approached by another man in a car at the Villas on the Green apartments in the 9600 block of Homestead Road near Tidwell Road around 8:35 p.m.

At some point, the man in the car allegedly shot the other man, police said.
Police said the shooter then fled the scene.
While police were investigating the shooting, a large crowd gathered at the apartment complex, police said.
A fight broke out at one point, and police had to call for more officers.
