SoulCycle opens in River Oaks

HOUSTON – People are crazy in love with Soul Cycle! As a matter of fact, the River Oaks studio has been open less than a week and classes are filling up.

“The major thing about Soul Cycle is we're a big community, we are based on a 45-minute, indoor cycling workout that is not only spin class but it also incorporates your mind,” instructor Chanelle Lagace said. “We let riders let go in a dark room lit by candles and riders can just let go and not have any self-consciousness about themselves.”

On the bike, riders do dance choreography on the stationary bike, which engages the upper body and core, with shoes specifically made to clip on the bikes.

The River Oaks location is at Kirby and Westheimer in the Kirby Oaks shopping center. There are about six classes a day.
