  • Best Light Beer: Miller Light
  • Best Store Brands: Trader Joe's & Walgreens
  • Best Buy: Coors
  • Best Overall: Coors

The selection included Budweiser, Coors, Corona, and Miller, as well as beer from Trader Joe's and Walgreens.

All were lagers, meaning they usually have a mix of floral, fruity, yeasty, malted-gain, and boiled hop flavors. Lagers also are mostly pale and light-bodied, so they don't stay foamy for long.

The report said after the test, none of the beers had enough complexity and balance to be excellent, but only one came close -- Coors.

The test covered regular vs. light beer, price vs. taste, store brands vs. big names, and cans vs. bottles.
